Dog talk and notes

October 9th, 2018

Today in class we started off talking about dogs and about how your dog was not feeling good but all of the tests came back showing that she was OK! Then we talked about how your wife found the dog on the side of the road after being hit by a truck which reminded me of one of my dogs that I used to have. My Mom and Dad found him on the side of the road when he was one and you could see his ribs and only weighed about 18 pounds. Were ended up keeping him where we lived a happy and healthy 15 years with us. Then we took notes about regions of cultures and this is what it was about.

  • Culture is the body of customary beliefs, material traits, and social forms that together constitute the distinct tradition of a group of people
  • Origin of the word, culture, is the Latin cultus, which means "to care for"
  • Two meanings which are 1)to care about 2)to care for
  • Geographers study both definitions of culture
  • Culture is what people care about
  • Geographers study why the customary ideas, beliefs and values of a person produces a distinctive culture in a particular place.
All in all class was pretty good today and It made me happy to hear that your dog is doing better.
