Today in class we walked in and surprise there was a pop quiz on the board. To be honest pop quizzes are not that bad so I didn't think I would do that bad. I started off on the quiz very confident but then my confidence drifted away. I liked how once the pop quiz was finished we went over the correct answers because now I know which ones I got wrong, plus some of those questions could be on the unit test. After taking the Pop quiz it made me realize that I should probably look over my notes more besides just writing a blog because I might retain more of the information. I am not overly disappointed with my first Pop Quiz grade in this class but I do know it could be better. Then we took notes in class and this is what we talked about.
- Region a unique area
- Geographers identify three types of regions
- Functional region(Nodal region)
- An area organized around a focal point
- The characteristics chosen to define a functional region dominates at a central focus and diminishes in the importance outward
- Vernacular region(Perceptual Region)
- An area that people believe exists as part of their cultural identity
